Overview

We are looking for motivated senior software development professionals to join the Canadian consumer product development team. 

 

The consumer product development team is responsible for driving innovation to deliver TurboTax Canada with delightful user experiences while maintaining the overall quality and accuracy of the product.

 

As part of the team, you’ll apply your full stack technical, innovation, and collaboration skills while helping the team drive the technology and processes of how a large-scale consumer web and mobile applications are developed and supported.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with architecting, designing, and developing web applications, prototypes, or POC’s
  • Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning
  • Acting as the technical subject matter expert: Mentoring fellow developers, demonstrating technical expertise, and collaborating with a small team solving challenging programming and design problems
  • Contribute to quality best practices including peer reviews of estimates, design, and code
  • Ready to handle a fast-paced environment featuring iterative project delivery on mission & revenue critical, customer facing applications
  • Generate technical documentation to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams and business users
  • Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams: product management, marketing, customer success, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results
  • Passion for growing and applying technical skills in service to customers

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience developing web or mobile applications
  • Expertise with enterprise development including technologies and patters such as Java, C#, REST services, ORM, Messaging systems, etc.
  • Fundamentals of web-based development such as CSS, HTML, and knowledge of frameworks such as React or Angular
  • Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Passion for quality practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated regression
  • Strong desire to learn and grow yourself and members of your team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding partnership skills
