We’re currently seeking a passionate and experienced Software Development Engineer in Test, SDET, to help us build our current and future products making our customers lives easier and more productive. At TSheets you will have the autonomy to work within a small team deploying code daily to hundreds of thousands of users with whom we source direct feedback, so we can listen and ensure our solutions meet our customer’s expectations. In your role you will use data to drive your technical decisions and work with a tight-knit team that supports each other in every way we can. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable test infrastructure, frameworks, and tools to enable developers to efficiently test their code
  • Develop, gather, and publish key metrics to determine the health and consistency of the tests. Utilize these metrics to drive improvements in the tools and tests to enable developers’ partners to be more efficient
  • Receive and provide implementation feedback in the form of regular peer code reviews
  • Debug and resolve test system issues working directly with developers
  • Participate in functional, integration, and regression test framework development
  • Assist in triaging test failures
  • Assist developers with test development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5 + years of experience with at least one server-side web technology and language like PHP, Java, C#, Ruby, JavaScript (Node.js), Python, etc.
  • Solid understanding of Agile Methodology
  • Experience with modern test frameworks such as PHPUnit, JUnit, NUnit, Jest, Selenium, Nightwatch, etc.
  • Prior experience with parallelizing and scaling test systems
  • Experience working with relational database technologies utilizing SQL syntax
  • Experience building or working with RESTful web services via JSON or XML
  • Self-starter, comfortable leading conversations and assisting in driving architectural decisions and designs
  • Proven track record of success working with test systems
  • Strong customer focus and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Enthusiasm and an ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Desire to collaborate and help design and implement complex features to completion
  • Professionalism and an ability to set ego aside (we like nice devs)
  • Front-end web development experience utilizing HTML, JavaScript, and CSS is a plus
  • Experience with modern web frameworks and tools such as, but not limited to jQuery, Angular, React, Backbone, etc. is a plus
  • Experience with Android, IOS, or other mobile application testing is a plus
